A-License - advanced license given in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Alpha - name of the end boss in Battle Network 3, originally was a government prototype internet project.
Anetta - character in Mega Man Battle Network 3, operator of PlantMan.exe.
Arashi - character in Mega Man Battle Network 2, operator of AirMan.exe.
Armor - armor that MegaMan.exe can use to reduce elemental effects.
Aura - term used for a protective barrier that can repel some attacks.
AuthCode - code in Mega Man Network Transmission that prevented unauthorized users from accessing the Undernet.

BattleChip - a chip used to interface with the PET's NetNavi that can send attack data to be used in a NetBattle.
Battle Chip Grand Prix - the NetBattling tournament sponsored in Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge.
BattleML - the Official NetBattlers mailing list that Dr. Froid signed Lan and MegaMan.exe up for during Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Network Transmission.
Battle Network Rockman.exe - the Japanese counterpart of Mega Man Battle Network.
Battle Network Rockman.exe 2 - the Japanese counterpart of Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Battle Network Rockman.exe 3 - the Japanese counterpart of Mega Man Battle Network 3.
Battle Network Rockman.exe 3 Black - the Japanese counterpart of Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue.

Blues.exe - Japanese counterpart of ProtoMan.exe.
BombMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network.
BowlMan.exe - a special Navi that appears in Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue.
Brother Style - the Japanese counterpart of Team Style.
BubbleMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
BrightMan.exe - a Navi from Mega Man Network Transmission.
Bug - an unexpected effect caused by a programming error.
BugFrag - a fragment of a program bug; useless on its own.
BugFrag Trader - similar to Chip Traders, these are used to trade BugFrags for items.
Bug Style - a form of style change in Mega Man Battle Network 3 that is evolved from improper customization of MegaMan.exe using the Navi Customizer.
Bug Fusion - the process used in Battle Network 2 by which bugs were combined in an attempt to create a data form similar to Bass.exe; process resulted in the spawning of the Multibug Organism.
Buster - see MegaBuster.

Canon - a basis for judgment; a standard or criterion.
Capcom - the company that publishes the Mega Man games.
Chip Trader - a machine where you can gamble for BattleChips.
Chip Trader Special - upgraded machine that can net rarer Chips.
Chisao Ooyama - Dex's little brother, appears in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
ColorMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network, also appears in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Chng.bat - program that initiates the Style Change system.
CopyMan.exe - enhanced Navi in the Undernet in Mega Man Battle Network 3; it takes the form of GutsMan.exe to challenge you.
CopyNavi - boss form in Mega Man Network Transmission where defeated Navi forms were emulated.
Count Zap - WWW operative in Mega Man Battle Network, operator of ElecMan.exe.
Creamland - one of the countries mentioned in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Custom Gauge - gauge that fills up during a NetBattle; when full, a menu can be accessed to upload new BattleChip data.
Custom Style - a form of Style Change that enhances the way MegaMan.exe can select BattleChips.
CutMan.exe - one of the Gospel Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
CyberMetro - the Net's version of the Metroline.
CyberSquare - sections of the Net where Navis can gather to be free from the viruses that plague other areas.

Dark Miyabi - character in Mega Man Battle Network 2 / Mega Man Network Transmission, operator of ShadowMan.exe.
Dave - character in Mega Man Network Transmission and Mega Man Battle Network 2, operator of QuickMan.exe.
Deletion - term used to describe the death of a virus or NetNavi.
Dekao Ooyama - Japanese counterpart of Dex.
DenCity - the overall metroplex where ACDC Town is located.
DenTech Academy - the NT Warrior name for ACDC Elementary.
DenTech City - the NT Warrior name for DenCity.
DenTown - alternate name for DenCity.
DesertMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.

Dr. Yuichiro Hikari - Lan's father; also the leading authority on NetNavi technology.

ElecMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network, also seen in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Electopia - the country where both DenCity and ACDC Town are located.
E-mail - a popular form of communication between people in the network era, also used in our real world today.
EndGame - term used in Mega Man Battle Network to describe Lord Wily's plot.
Eugene Chaud - youngest Official NetBattler, operator of ProtoMan.exe.
EXE anime - series of anime episodes in Japan that chronicle MegaMan.exe's adventures.
EXE - file extension used to denote an executable program; all NetNavis have this extension to their filenames.

Famous - see Mr. Famous.
FireMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network, also seen in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Firewall - term used to describe a block on data transfer on the Net, actually appeared as a boss in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Forbidden Program - see GigFreeze.
Forte.exe - Japanese counterpart of Bass.exe.
FlameMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
FlashMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
FreezeMan.exe - one of the Gospel Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Full Synchro - method by which a Navi and Operator can fully synchronize with each other, making the ultimate team.


G:
GateMan.exe - one of the Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2, belonged to Mr. Famous.
Get Ability - a program used by Bass.exe to absorb others powers.
Giga Chip - highly advanced chip variation found in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
GigFreeze - a name given to the mysterious program capable of taking down Alpha.
Glide.exe - the butler-style NetNavi operated by Yai.
Gospel - name of the criminal NetMafia organization in Mega Man Battle Network 2; name of the end boss in the same game.
Gospel Kid - see Sean.
Gospel Navi - term used to describe any of the present in Mega Man Battle Network 2 that worked for Gospel.
Government Complex - area in Mega Man Battle Network that housed the Waterworks and SciLabs.
Gramps - Lan's grandfather, creator of network society as well as Alpha.
GravityMan.exe - a mysterious Navi found in the Zero Account during Mega Man Network Transmission.
Ground Style - a form of style change in Mega Man Battle Network 3 White Version that enhances MegaMan.exe's power to alter the conditions of the battlefield at the same time granting him the ability to create shockwaves by stomping.
Guardian Program - program present in Alpha to prevent it from being completely decoded.
GutsMan.exe - NetNavi operated by Dex; he is close friends with Lan and MegaMan.exe.
Guts Style - a form of style change that endows MegaMan.exe with a gigantic fist and a powered up Buster attack; acquired from frequent use of the MegaBuster.


H:
Hacking Rocket - device used by Wily in Mega Man Battle Network; it was meant to transport the LifeVirus to infect military satellites.
Hades Isle - area in Mega Man Battle Network 3 where the N1 Grand Prix preliminaries took place.
Haruka Hikari - the wife of Dr. Hikari and Lan's mother.
HBD - name of the heart condition that ails Mamoru in Mega Man Battle Network 3; this disease is also what claimed Hub's life as an infant.
HeatMan.exe - one of the Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Higeura - Japanese name for Higsby's Shop.
Hinoken - Japanese counterpart of Mr. Match.
HP - term used to describe MegaMan.exe's hit points.
HPMemory - term used for an upgrade which increases MegaMan.exe's energy meter.
Hub.bat - an emergency patch program applied to MegaMan.exe in Mega Man Battle Network to make Lan and MegaMan.exe go into Full Synchro to increase their powers and destroy the LifeVirus.
Hub - Lan's older brother who died of heart failure as an infant; Dr. Hikari managed to preserve Hub in the form of a NetNavi named MegaMan.exe.
Hub Style - the most advanced style change in Mega Man Battle Network 2; this combined the attributes of the previous four forms into an ultimate Style, but halved MegaMan.exe's HP amount.


I:
IceMan.exe - a WWW Navi in Mega Man Battle Network; also seen in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Internet - the worldwide network of computers and information that is used as the basis of the series.


J:
Jack-in - state of sending one's Navi into the Internet.
Jack-out - state of recalling one's Navi out of the Internet.
JapanMan.exe - one of the hidden Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.


K:
Kai Todoroki - a character from Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, operator of TurboMan.exe.
Kaito Todoroki- Japanese counterpart of Kai Todoroki.
Keiji Inafune - creator of the Mega Man series and producer on the Battle Network series.
KingMan.exe - one of the Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
KnightMan.exe - one of the Gospel Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2.


L:
Lan Hikari - fifth grade student at ACDC Elementary, operator of MegaMan.exe.
LifeVirus - end boss in Mega Man Battle Network, a massive virus combined of four elemental super-programs and possessing no elemental weakness.
LifeVirus R - recreation of the LifeVirus, found in Mega Man Network Transmission.
LifeVirus Core - second form of the LifeVirus R found in Mega Man Network Transmission.
Lord Wily - the leader of the WWW organization; operator of DrillMan and partner with Bass in Mega Man Battle Network 3.

MagnetMan.exe - one of the Gospel Navis from Mega Man Battle Network 2.
MagicMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network.
Mamoru - character in Mega Man Battle Network 3, administrator of the Undernet
Mary Towa - character in Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, operator of Ring.exe.
Masa - character in Mega Man Battle Network, operator of SharkMan.exe.
Marine Harbor - area in Mega Man Battle Network 2 where the Official Center was located.
Mayl Sakurai - Lan's closest friend, operator of Roll.exe.
Maylu Sakurai - the NT Warrior name for Mayl.
MegaBuster - term used for MegaMan.exe's secondary means of attack; this weapon can be upgraded with the use of PowerUPs.
Mega Chip - an advanced chip form, mostly containing Navi data, found in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
MegaMan.exe - protagonist of the series; a Navi with seemingly unlimited potential.
Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge - the turn-based strategy game that takes place after the events in Mega Man Battle Network 3.

Mega Man Battle Network 3 White Version - the third title in the series, one of two versions.
Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue Version - second version of the third title.

NapalmMan.exe - one of the hidden Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Navi Customizer - program in Mega Man Battle Network 3 that replaces the PowerUP system.
NeedleMan.exe - one of the Navis driven berserk by the Zero Virus in Mega Man Network Transmission.
NetBattle - term used to describe any online fight between a Navi and another Navi or virus.
NetBattler - term used to describe one that engages in online netbattling Netopia - a far away country in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
NetDealers - online merchants in the games that sell upgrades and chips.
NetNavi - an artificially intelligent program housed in a PET that can act as a digital assistant, and in many cases, be equipped with battle data to fend off viruses.
Netto - Japanese version of Lan Hikari.
Normal Style - MegaMan.exe's normal style form.
NumberMan.exe - former WWW Navi in Mega Man Battle Network; belongs to Mr. Higsby.


O:
Official Center - location of the NetBattlers' headquarters and new home of the SciLabs.
Official NetBattler - NetBattlers that are licensed by the Official Center to hunt down and destroy high-level threats.
Okuden Valley - name of the campgrounds in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Operator - the term used to describe the human who uses the PET and NetNavi.
Omega Navi - the highest data form of a NetNavi.


P:
PET - "PEersonal Terminal"; a sort of advanced cell-phone or PDA that just about everyone in the series uses to manage day to day life.
PharaohMan.exe - a recurring hidden Navi that has appeared in various titles.
PlantMan.exe - one of the WWW Navis in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
PowerUP - program that MegaMan.exe can use to enhance his attributes.
Princess Pride - Gospel operative in Mega Man Battle Network 2, operator of KnighMan.exe.
Program Advance - an attack formed when certain chips are selected in a certain sequence; this attack usually yields high-damage results.
Program Block - a program used in the Navi Customizer.
Professor - character in Mega Man Network Transmission; he attempted to rebuild the LifeVirus after Wily's defeat in Mega Man Battle Network.
ProtoMan.exe - NetNavi belonging to Chaud; possesses a strong sense of right and wrong as well as a very high attack ability.
ProtoShield - ProtoMan.exe's shield attack.
Pulse Transmission System - a system that allows a human to physically enter the Internet, similar to Full Synchro.
Punk.exe - new NetNavi belonging to Mr. Famous; appears in Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue.

QuickMan.exe - NetNavi that goes berserk in Mega Man Network Transmission, and becomes a Gospel Navi in Mega Man Battle Network 2.

Raoul - character in Mega Man Battle Network 2, operator of ThunderMan.exe.
Rei - WWW operative in Mega Man Battle Network 3, operator of FlashMan.exe.
Regular Memory - term used to describe the amount of MB storage MegaMan has in his chip memory.
Regular Chip - term used to describe a BattleChip that MegaMan.exe can always count on to come up in a NetBattle.
RegUp - program used to increase Mega Man's Regular Memory, allowing him to use more powerful Regular Chips.
Ribitta - DNN correspondent seen in Mega Man Battle Network 2 and Mega Man Battle Network 3, operator of ToadMan.exe.
Ring.exe - NetNavi competitor from Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge.
Rockman EXE Battle Chip Grand Prix - Japanese version of Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge.

Rockman EXE Axxess - new anime in Japan starring Rockman.exe.
Rockman EXE N1 Battle - the Wonderswan Battle Network title.

Seaside Hospital - the hospital on Beach Street in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
Secret Net - the top secret area of the Undernet in Mega Man Battle Network 3.
Security Cube - cubes strewn across the Internet that prevent those without authorization codes from entering.

SubMem - upgrade for MegaMan.exe that enhances the amount of SubChips he can carry.
Sunayama - WWW operative in Mega Man Battle Network 3; stager of the N1 Grand Prix and operator of DesertMan.exe.
SuperNavi - term used in Mega Man Battle Network 2 to describe Bass.exe.
Swapopolis - homeland of Tora.
SwordMan.exe - one of the mysterious Navis in Mega Man Network Transmission.

Takeo Inukai - WWW operative in Mega Man Battle Network 3, operator of BeastMan.exe.
Tamako - a character in Mega Man Battle Network 3, operator of MetalMan.exe. Also appears in Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge.
Team Style - a form of style change that allows MegaMan.exe to use more NaviChips in battle, and (in Mega Man Battle Network 3) locate and fight the V4 Navis.
TetraCode - one part of four-program set that Dr. Wily was after in Mega Man Battle Network 3 to help him decode Alpha.

UnderNet - the deepest reaches of the Internet; originally created as a defense mechanism to protect the Forbidden Program, now a location where most corrupt Navis do their business.


V:
Virus - term for the malignant programs that infect other computers; these take many different forms.
Virus Breeder - a machine used in Mega Man Battle Network 3 used to experimentally raise tame viruses to use to attack malevolent viruses.
Virus Busting - term applied to battling and deleting computer viruses.


W:
W - a symbol for Dr. Wily.
WackoMan - the NT Warrior name for ColorMan.exe.
Waterworks - place in Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Network Transmission; used to control the flow of water to DenCity.
WoodMan.exe - one of the Navis in Mega Man Battle Network.
WWW - abbreviation for the "World Three", the criminal organization in Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Battle Network 3.
WWW Isle - final area of Mega Man Battle Network 3 where Wily was hiding out.
WWW Navi - term used to describe any of the Navis in Mega Man Battle Network or Mega Man Battle Network 3 that worked for the WWW.
WWW Pin - an access key given to Lan by Dr. Froid in Mega Man Battle Network, allowing Lan to access some hidden parts of the Internet areas.

Yai Ayanakouji - young student in Lan's class and a close friend, operator of Glide.exe.
Yaito Ayanakouji - the Japanese counterpart of Yai Ayanakouji.
Yahoot - a WWW operative in Mega Man Battle Network, operator of MagicMan.exe.
YamatoMan.exe - Japanese version of JapanMan.exe.
Yoka - area in Mega Man Battle Network 3 where the Zoo incident took place.
Yoka Inn - place in Mega Man Battle Network 3, houses the server for the Undernet.
Yumland - a country in Mega Man Battle Network 2, its net area was devastated by ShadowMan.exe.


Z:
Z-License - beginners license given in Mega Man Battle Network 2.
Zenny - the currency used in the Battle Network games.
Zero.exe - boss Navi in Mega Man Network Transmission; existed as the Zero Virus prior to Dr. Hikari isolating his virus functions.
Zero Account - term used to describe the area of the Internet where the Zero Virus emanated from.
Zero Vaccine - term for the fake Zero Virus vaccine distributed by StarMan.exe; this vaccine made Navis go berserk and ignore operator orders.
Zero Virus - the virus that infected Navis and slowed their processes down in Mega Man Network Transmission.
