100 - - the number of years in between the Mega Man X series and the Mega Man Zero series.
20XX - century that the Mega Man series takes place in.
21XX - century that the X series takes place in.

A:
Active Form - one of the Form Changes in Mega Man Zero 2.
Alouette - a young Reploid that lives with the Resistance.
Andrew - an old wizened Reploid that lives with the Resistance.
Animal Elf - type of Cyber Elf that can enhance Zero's abilities.
Anubis - the Japanese counterpart of Anubis Necromancess III.
Anubis Necromancess III - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero.
Aztec Falcon - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero.


B:
Baaburu Hekerotton - the Japanese counterpart of Burble Hekelot.
Baby Elf - one of two powerful Elves in Mega Man Zero 2; used to awaken the deadly Dark Elf.
Blast Shot - one of the EX Skills from Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Fefnir.
Blizzack Stagroff - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero.
Blizzar Burrizaku - Japanese counterpart of Blizzack Stagroff.
Burble Hekelot - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero 2.
Buster Shot - Zero's secondary weapon; one of his four standard sub-weapons.


C:
Capcom - the company that publishes Mega Man games and its spin-offs.
Canon - a basis for judgment; a standard or criterion.
Centi Ashuram - one of the Neo Arcadian guards in Mega Man Zero.
Cerveau - chief engineer for the Resistance; he makes Zero's weapons.
Chain Rod - modified version of the Triple Rod that Zero used in Mega Man Zero 2, allowed Zero to grapple and pull some objects.
Ciel - former leader of the Resistance, creator of Copy X, and one of Zero's best friends.
Copy X - the near-perfect copy of X built by Ciel after he mysteriously vanished; this copy was defeated by Zero in Mega Man Zero.
Cyber Elf - powerful energy form that can be used to heal or otherwise assist in battle.


D:
Dark Elf - an extremely powerful Cyber-Elf once sealed away by X, was released from its cage by Elpizo in Mega Man Zero 2.
Defense Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; enhances Zero's defense.
Dr. Bairu - the presumed Japanese counterpart of Dr. Weil.
Dr. Weil - a scientist mentioned in Mega Man Zero 2, is presumed responsible for the creation of the Dark Elf.
Dr. Wily - evil scientist from centuries past during the days of the Mega Man series, creator of Zero.


E:
Elf Wars - term used to describe the series of wars fought over the Cyber-Elves.
Elpis - the Japanese counterpart of Elpizo.
Elpizo - the new commander of the Resistance in Mega Man Zero 2, he was beaten by Zero after the prospect of the Dark Elf's power drove him mad.
Energen Crystal - the term for Reploids' primary power source.
Energy Chain - one of the EX Skills from Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Burble Hekelot.
Energy Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; enhanced Zero by causing enemies to drop recovery items more often.
Erase Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; allowed Zero to cut some enemy shots with his Z Saber.
EX Skill - the term used to describe a special skill which Zero could learn in Mega Man Zero 2.


F:
Fefnir - one of the four Guardians of Master X.
Fenikku Magumanion - the Japanese counterpart of Phoenix Magnion.
Fire Chip - one of Zero's elemental weapon enhancements.
Filter Shield - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Rainbow Devil mk-II.
Form Change - a term in Mega Man Zero 2 used to describe Zero's power to evolve new powers based on his fighting skills.


G:
Golem - a stone guardian type enemy used as a sentinel to guard Neo Arcadia, the mainstay of their military force.
Golem Type-E - an elec-based version of the Golem.
Golem Type-F - a fire-based version of the Golem.
Golem Type-I - an ice-based version of the Golem.
Guardian - title bestowed upon the four powerful Reploids that were chosen to serve as Master X's bodyguards, Phantom was destroyed in Mega Man Zero.


H:
Hacker Elf - a type of Cyber-Elf that can change the conditions of the area Zero is in.
Hanumachine - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero; apprentice to Phantom.
Harpuia - one of the four Guardians of Master X.
Harupyuia - the Japanese counterpart of Harpuia.
Herculious Anchortus - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero.
Herculious Anchus - alternate spelling of Herculious Anchortus, seen in Mega Man Zero 2.
Herculus Ankatusu - the Japanese counterpart of Herculious Anchortus.
Hibernation sickness - name for the amnesia that still plagues Zero as a result of spending so long sealed away in his capsule.
Hittide Hottide - one of the Neo Arcadian assault vehicles in Mega Man Zero.
Hittoido Hottaido - Japanese counterpart of Hittide Hottide.
Hyaaniburu - the Japanese counterpart of Fefnir.
Hyleg Ourobockle - one of the Neo Arcadians from Mega Man Zero 2.
Hyuureggu Urobokkuru - the Japanese counterpart of Hyleg Ourobockle.


I:
Ice Chip - one of Zero's elemental weapon enhancments.
Inafune, Keiji - creator of the Mega Man series and its spin-offs.


J:
Jackson Elf - term for the secret Elf in Mega Man Zero that granted you temporarily invincibility.


K:
Kougenjin - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Harpuia.
Kuwagasuto Ankatusu - the Japanese counterpart of Kuwagust Anchus.
Kuwagust Anchus - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero 2.


L:
Laser Shot - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Hyleg Ourobockle.
Leviathian - one of the four Guardians of Master X.


M:
Maha Ganeshariff - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero.
Master X - term used by those loyal to Neo Arcadia to describe both the original X and Copy X.
Maverick - a term used to describe any Reploid that disobeyed orders or acted counter to society's norms, many were influenced by the deadly Sigma Virus.
Maverick Wars - the term used to describe the years of constant war during which time X and Zero battled the maniacal Sigma.
Mecha Scorpia - a minor Neo Arcadian sentinel in Mega Man Zero 2.
Mega Man series - series of games that took place from 200X to 20XX that chronicled Mega Man's fight against the nefarious Dr. Wily.
Mega Man - - name of the Mega Man series hero, also is a general term applied to all of the series.
Mega Man X - see X.
Mega Man X series - series of games that took place in 21XX; chronicled X and Zero's battles against Sigma and the Mavericks.
Mega Man Zero series - name of this series of games taking place in 22XX, occurs 100 years after the X series and chronicles Zero's fight against Neo Arcadia.
Mega Man Zero - the first game in the series.
Mega Man Zero 2 - the second game in the series.
Mega Man Zero 3 - the third game in the series.


N:
Neo Arcadia - name of the city in which the humans live in 22XX; also the name for the oppressive government regime once run by Copy X.
Neo Arcadian - a member of the military, a citizen, or anything that belongs to or resides in Neo Arcadia, term most often applied to the soldiers or guardians.
Nurse Elf - a type of Cyber-Elf that can be used to heal Zero or add other life-giving effects.


O:
Omega - an unknown character introduced in the closing to Mega Man Zero 2.
Operation Righteous Strike - the name Elpizo used for his planned counteroffensive on Neo Arcadia in Mega Man Zero 2.
Orichi-Arm Metalcore - the dragon-like mechaniloid from Mega Man Zero.


P:
Pantaa Furakurosu - the Japanese counterpart of Panter Flauclaws.
Panter Flauclaws - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero 2.
Pantheon - the general classification of the X-Droids that compose Neo Arcadia's primary fighting force.
Pantheon Core - a machine in Mega Man Zero 2 that guarded the supply train.
Passy - name of Ciel's Cyber-Elf that resurrected Zero in Mega Man Zero.
Phantom - one of the Guardians of Master X, he killed himself in a last ditch effort to destroy Zero in Mega Man Zero.
Phoenix Magnion - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero 2.
Poler Kamrous - one of the Neo Arcadians in Mega Man Zero 2.
Pooraa Kamubeasu - the Japanese counterpart of Poler Kamrous.
Power Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; allowed Zero to create larger slash attacks.
Proto Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; allowed Zero to utilize new power attacks but reduced the effectiveness of his weapons.


R:
Rainbow Devil - a boss in both Mega Man Zero and Mega Man Zero 2 that appears in Neo Arcadia, has strikingly similar design to Dr. Wily's old Devil creations.
Reploid - the term for any robot that can think, feel, and make its own decisions.
Reploid Resistance - name given to the band of Reploids that fights against Neo Arcadia's oppressive policies.
Resistance Base - the headquarters of the Reploid Resistance troops.
Reuiatun - the Japanese counterpart of Leviathian.
Rise Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; allowed Zero to have an upward-moving slash as the final move in his slashing combos.
Rockman Zero - the first game of the Japanese series.
Rockman Zero 2 - the second game of the Japanese series.
Rockman Zero 3 - the third game of the Japanese series.


S:
Seraph-X - official name given to Copy X's winged battle body in Mega Man Zero.
Sharp Edge - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Leviathian.
Shield Boomerang - one of Zero's subweapons, can be charged up and thrown outward.
Sigma - villain from the X series and perpetrator of the Maverick Wars.
Sigma Virus - the name of the virus that plagued X and Zero during the Maverick Wars; Zero originally carried a purer form of this virus early in his life, but has since been purged of it.
Sodom and Gomorrah - the name given to Fefnir's giant flame-spewing cannon, undoubtedly a reference to the story in the Bible.


T:
Tag Flyers - one of the mini guardians of Neo Arcadia in Mega Man Zero.
Tenshouzan - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Phoenix Magnion.
Thunder Chip - one of Zero's elemental weapon enhancements.
Triple Rod - one of Zero's sub-weapons that appeared in Mega Man Zero.
Triple Shot - one of the EX Skills in Mega Man Zero 2; technique originally belonged to Poler Kamrous.


U:
Ultimate Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; allowed Zero to execute charged attacks with button combos.
Ultimate Mode - special mode in Mega Man Zero that allowed player to start with the Jackson Elf in their inventory.
Unknown-X - the name given to X in Mega Man Zero because whether or not it was him was "unknown".


X:
X - the hero from the X series who defeated Sigma and ended both the Maverick Wars and later, the Elf Wars; currently exists as a special Cyber-Elf.
X-Droid - alternate name for a Pantheon.
X Form - one of the Forms in Mega Man Zero 2; it raised Zero's proficiency with his Buster Shot, enabling him to inflict more damage when using it.


Z:
Zero - the main hero of the series; also is the same robot that fought with X during the Maverick Wars.
Z-Saber - Zero's primary weapon that is capable of multiple slashing attacks.
